Although a 25 foot set back applied to the front of these homes,
the second stories were set back an additional 20 to 35 feet
from the street to minimize their street façade. Colors
were also carefully chosen to “camouflage” the homes
and make them less intrusive in the traditional north Austin
neighborhood. The side-by-side |

orientation of the homes forced the creation of small intimate
gardens on the sides of home and allowed both of them to have
private “backyards”. The backyard for Metrohouse
B is substantially larger than the “A” home. A granite
outdoor patio right off the back door provides another intimate
spot for relaxing and soaking in the sun. |
