1903 ALEGRIA OPEN HOUSE
To celebrate the completion of our Metrohouses on Alegria, we hosted
an art exhibit that included some world renowned talent. Our exhibiting
artist included: Melinda Seifert. Mrs. Seifert is known for her work
on capturing classic Texas scenes in a unique way. Using Polaroid
film, Seifert uses the negative image and transfer it to various media,
creating surreal images of actual photos. A favorite sculptor, Hank
Waddell, has exhibited his work all over Austin and beyond as well
as the Chinati Exhibit in Marfa, Texas. Mr. Waddell shines at sculpting
out the inner objects of naturally found pieces of wood. Wells Mason
of Ironwood Industries is a superb craftsman and artist. His exhibition
pieces created out of exotic woods and metal can be classified as
functional art. His signature bench with its metal base and exotic
sculpted seat juxtaposed with his playful exotic wood bookends exemplifies
his range of interest and talent. Jim Huntington, a sculptor based
in Copeland Texas exhibited several pieces. Mr. Huntington’s
work has been exhibited all over the United States in one man shows
as well as several international locations. We are grateful to have
been able to provide a venue, however modest, to these great artist
who strive to uncover truths everyday!
We look forward to our next exhibit at the completion of our 1312
Romeria project.
